A Guide to Coworking: Costs, Community, and Considerations

Coworking places are a popular substitute for the conventional “office” and home office. Freelancers, small startups, and remote workers have been taking advantage of working in flexible shared spaces, and still maintain their integrity as coworkers and a community.
What is the Cost of a Coworking Desk?
The price of a coworking desk differs a lot based on where you are, what is included with the desk, and the membership options.
Hot Desks: Hot desks measure from around ₹4,000 all the way up to ₹30,000 a month.
Dedicated Desks: it can cost you anywhere from ₹8,000 per month to ₹60,000+, depending on the city and if the space is rented.
Day Passes: Prices typically range from ₹500 — ₹2,000 per day.

How Much Does Wishcoworker Cost Per Hour?
wishcowork is a well-known name in the coworking space. It has flexible “On Demand” offerings. You can book a desk by the day, or more strictly for specific needs, a meeting room by the hour.
Day Passes: wishcowork day passes start at approximately Rs. 449.
Meeting Rooms: For meetings or private calls, you can reserve a conference room starting at about Rs. 1000 an hour.
Can We Sleep in a Coworking Space?
Although it may be tempting to take a quick nap after a long day of work, napping is usually not allowed, and more than likely, there will be no napping in a coworking space! Some spaces may have a “quiet zone” or lounge area with comfy chairs or maybe a trundle or two (where napping or resting is permitted). Most of these areas are not for sleeping or overnight use anyway.

What Are the Disadvantages of Coworking Spaces?
Coworking spaces have their advantages and disadvantages, which are worth noting before you make the plunge.
Noise and Distractions: Open plan space will often be loud with people hold conversations, answering phone calls, and drumming away on their computer or laptop. Sound and visual distractions are inevitable, not they will affect your productivity if you are someone who needs quietness and focus to work.
No Privacy and Security: Think of how many different people working from different companies is sharing the same space as you. There is a far greater likelihood of sensitive information being overheard or covertly reviewed.
Lower Productivity: Socializing in a coworking space can be nice for networking, but it also wastes a lot of time socializing instead of doing the necessary work that requires focus.
Price vs Value: Coworking space could end up being the most expensive option by the time your membership is up.
